- I never thought I’d utilize a personal trainer. My daughter started seeing Jordyne and really enjoys her. We saw and continue to see the big improvement Jordyne made on her and it inspired me to see her as well. Jordyne has changed the quality of my life. My chronic shoulder and neck pain that I’ve had for over 4 years has gone. Jordyne provided me with the perfect workout to strengthen and fix my problem. Jordyne provides me with the perfect program suited for my shoulders, back, hips and hernia. I’ve got a lot that needs to be addressed and she also identified areas I didn’t know I needed help with. She knows her stuff and is kind, fun, encouraging and enthusiastic. I’ve only been seeing Jordyne for 3 months and the progress she’s accomplished with me has been fabulous. I’m Stronger and moving better. I never knew or thought I’d ever be able to climb snow banks or lift my suitcase in the overhead bin on a plane. Due to Jordyne I am! I feel younger, stronger and happier. She’s the best life choice I’ve ever made.

- Last summer I knew I had to make some changes. My mental and physical health were not great and I knew I had to get back to being active. I booked a free consult, and showed up full of anxiety. But after that initial meeting with Jordy I knew I would be making a mistake if I didn't follow through. The facility is small in the most comfortable way, where everyone is friendly and encouraging and there is no need to feel self conscious or out of place. And I absolutely hit the jackpot with Jordy as a trainer. She is so knowledgeable, kind, funny, and encouraging. She's been nothing less than a lifeline for this anxious and out of shape mom who never imagined stepping foot in a gym again. In just 6 months her carefully planned workouts have fixed a shoulder issue I was ignoring and I now have full mobility again, I'm building muscle and recently deadlifted 225 lbs which I never thought would be possible, the scale is moving in the right direction, and I finally feel more like myself than I have in years. Jordy goes over and above for her clients, and creates a safe and encouraging space while still pushing us to reach our potential. You will not regret your time spent with her!

- I am not being hyperbolic when I say this: having Jordyne as my personal trainer has quite literally been the best thing that has happened to me since moving to Winnipeg. Or, as the kids say, "she's fantastic, frfr, no cap." Jordyne has such a refreshing and kind energy that has changed my perspective on fitness for the better. She's helped me shift my mindset from thoughts akin to, "Ugh, I have to go to the gym" to more positive thoughts of, "Ooo, I can't WAIT to go to the gym!" I used to call B.S. on friends who would tell me that over time, your body craves the gym. They'd continue on to say how it can be therapeutic and give so may other benefits. "Ridiculous," is what I would tell them, "ain't no way you're happy by making yourself tired for just an hour of your day!" But now here I am, boasting (just a little) and saying, "Girl, you have GOT to at least meet some of the coaches if you're not liking your gym, they make it 10x easier. Especially Jordy!". Ultimately, the facts speak for themselves and in these six months of working with Jordy: • I have seen such growth on my self-confidence • My mental health has fortified to the point of slowly reducing my medications (note: I am NOT a doctor. Please consult medical professionals as needed in regards to mental health!) • Normal day-to-day movements are so much easier and use way less energy than before There's probably a lot more, but you hopefully get the gist of it! All in all, my time here with Jordyne as my coach has significantly validated my decision to getting a personal trainer. I can genuinely see the value I get out of these hour sessions, compared to when I would mindlessly just flail about for an hour at a public gym and call that "good enough". Though, props to those who ARE getting into the gym in the first place, that's half the battle. I grant yet another 5-star review/edit to my wonderful coach and to the community that is North Star Fitness.
- "Coaching First"
- Right off the bat, this gym wastes no time backing up their motto. Even during the day one intake session--to simply see if it would be a good fit for my lifestyle--I was more than reassured about everything that goes into what personal training would be like here. Having a trainer like Jordyne is such a breath of fresh air, as she does a lot of the mental "heavy lifting" while you do the literal heavy lifting (hehe). Her approach to coaching almost makes you forget that you're still putting in a ton of effort to your fitness goals. Jordyne's coaching emphasizes progress over perfection, celebrating the small wins, and still having fun while reaching your goals; and if even just a fraction of that style is shared across the board, then North Star can be reassured they're doing great for all us Winnipeg warriors in the fitness world! Heck, I still remember one of my first days, Brett helped me with my technique in one of my warm-ups that has made a huge difference going forward. This was in-between sets with one of his own clients and it simply proves my point in this 5-star review.

- After having tibia surgery and still in a cast, I was unsure if getting back into the gym was even possible for our son. Before training with Jordy, I felt limited, uncertain, and honestly a bit nervous about making the injury worse. Now, with Jordy’s support and expert guidance, he has not only regained strength and mobility but also confidence. She was reliable, encouraging, and always adapted workouts to suit the recovery. Her positivity and knowledge truly made all the difference. If you’re on the fence about joining the gym or working with a personal trainer — especially if you're recovering from an injury — I can’t recommend it enough. Jordy and North Star Fitness helped take those first steps safely and stay consistent. You’ll be glad you did!

- found Jordyne through an open house held at North Star Fitness. I didn't have plans to sign up but it was near my house so I went to check it out because I am over 40 and was at a point where I was so overweight I had multiple health problems including pre-diabetes, sleep apnea, insomnia and fatty liver. I couldn't get myself healthy and I needed help. Anytime I tried an open gym or group classes I'd give up on myself because it was so easy to cancel/not go. After meeting the trainers, learning that it their specialty is one-on-one training, and seeing the facility I figured I owed it to myself to give it a shot. I chose Jordyne as my trainer because of her warm, understanding, and trustworthy demeanor. I knew what an emotional and difficult journey this would be for me and I needed someone who could handle that as well as hold me accountable. After 12 weeks I've realized even more amazing things about Jordyne. First, she KNOWS HER STUFF! She's explained more about the biology behind training than I'd ever read in my life. I'm very detail oriented so really benefit from understanding the mechanics. Second, she wasn't just a good fit, she's the PERFECT fit for me! She quickly identified what motivates me, she recognizes my tells when something isn't feeling right that day, and she helps me battle the negative thoughts in my brain that tell me I can't do it. I love holding myself accountable to Jordyne and never want to let her down. I've only had to cancel 2 sessions in 3 months (because I was sick) and Jordyne quickly made time to reschedule. It's never easy. I've only just started actually "wanting" to go to the gym and it's still rare.. But I want to see Jordyne regardless of how I'm feeling and more often than not, the workout ends up being one of my best ones! I've smashed small personal goals (something as simple-sounding as getting up off the ground without using my hands was not possible) as well as set a couple club records! I've reduced my insomnia medication dose by half and my family says I am more pleasant to be around lol. I've got more goals to reach and every session Jordyne explains how the work we're doing will help me achieve my goals. It may cost more for personal training but what is actually the bigger cost? A chunk of my pay cheque or the rest of my life? It won't cost you a cent to walk in the door and meet the trainers. You owe it to yourself to be the BEST you and NSF will help you get there!
